Dear Journal,
I think it's a good idea. For the beginning, I'll be monitoring for a bit, making sure everyone's posting something decently written. I'm not going to proofread, though--only give tips--just so that you, the readers, will be able to get to know everyone the way they actually write.
First off, hi. I'm Pup Furrin, the 8th child in my large family and a proud member of the only set of triplets in the kingdom. My triplet brothers are named Oliver (or "Olly") and Rusty. Since I have so many other siblings, I'll just list them all in order from oldest to youngest (out of the ones we have so far, that is) along with ages. Here we go:
Doggiely, 19; December 25 F
Golden, 19 (Doggiely's three-second younger twin); December 25 F
Barky, 18; August 21 M
Coconut, 17; December 25 M
Giraffie, 16; August 22 F
Snowflake, 16; December 1 F
Brownie, 15; July 9 M
Moo, 15; December 25 F
Me (Pup), 14; April 24 M
Rusty, 14; April 24 M
Oliver (Olly), 14; April 24 M
Chocolate Pudding (Chocolate Puddy), 10; August 27 F
Ellie, 8; March 10 F
Rajah, 2; December 5 M
If you haven't guessed it yet, we are the royal family and ruling class of the grand kingdom of ToyWorld. I am very proud to be of princely blood, though I'm not the arrogant questing type, like my brother Barky. We rarely see him because he travels so much. Of course, the royal life isn't for everyone. For example, my sister Puddy lives on her own away from the castle and doesn't acknowledge her royal bloodline. She runs her own pudding store, and it's very popular. I rarely get to see her, though. I might need to pay her a visit sometime. I've got a craving for something sweet right about now. My other sister, Snowflake, is a traveler and is always going on cool adventures and bringing us back awesome stories to tell around the holidays.
I've got some cousins, too, and since this post is already plenty long, why not list them as well? Don't want them to feel left out here. You can expect to see posts from them as well. Here they are:
Paws, 10; August 22 F
Santy, 4; December 25 M
Plushie (sometimes Pluz or Pluzdog), 2; July 9 F
Spottie, 1; July 9 F
Plushie's a pretty interesting character. She's a soft, brightly-colored plush dog, and runs her own blog over here. She usually hangs out with Brownie, her babysitter. She's not the brightest, but she has a great nature and that makes up for it entirely and then some. Santy's not really acknowledged often, since he's only around at Christmas, and Spottie's very kind and intelligent, especially for her age. Paws is an extremely talented and smart calico cat, though some of that gets to her head. She's the genius of the family, and Plushie's got the magickal abilities. In every non-royal family, there's usually only one genius and one wizard. The royal family's got plenty, though--and sometimes a little too many!
But enough about the rest of them--I guess you want to hear about me, huh? Well, I run the charity-supported local orphanage and soup kitchen with my brother and best friend Olly, and I do some magick tutoring as well in my free time. I'm not sure yet what I want to be when I grow up, though I do have some ideas that could happen. Mostly, I just want to help the world. That's all. Though I'm not in line for the throne--that's Moo's spot--I believe I still can do something to help out. I mean, why not? I have some decent abilities. I'm smart enough. I do well in school and treat others fairly. Sorry to brag, but it's true, or at least I like to think so.
I guess that's enough for now. I've introduced every important character in the story of my life, and now it's time to turn the page and begin for real. (I stole that line from one of my favorite books, Wandering in the Mist by Ster E O Typical. It's a great book; I highly recommend giving it a read.) I'll see you later, dear readers. Here's to the new year!
